Nikola Jokic is the Best Young Player in the League

They say that there are two things that you do not want to watch get made: Laws; and freakishly athletic Serbian big men who terrorizes opponents by averaging 4.5 assists over the last 10 games and is shooting almost 60% from the floor.

Now you may want to point out the crop of new NBA players eating up minute shares and making old, washed up, illegitimate, overrated, decrepit fogies like Lebron look stupid.  It’s true that there are tons of rookies lighting the league on fire, but none of them look as fly while doing it.

The best thing about Jokic is he hasn’t become enamored with the “scoring” that seems to have infected the league.  Coaches are always “score this” and players are all like “score that” without realizing that the game isn’t about points.  It’s not about the 3 point line fad or the “motion offense” (or as I like to call it, the “puke and pass” cause it makes everyone nauseous and leads to a lot of useless passes), basketball is about putting your teammates in positions to succeed through selflessly giving them shots that are almost as wide open as the one you are about to pass up (this is know as “the Rondo”) Sure, Embiid might average more points per game, but can Embiid do this?

In this wave of newbies who aren’t from America, a.k.a the selfish wasteland of boring basketball, Jokic is a cut above the rest.
